Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns, which included the work Study From Nature by Walter Frederick Osborne. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 87,500.00 (€ 98,697.34). Admittedly, works by Walter Frederick Osborne have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dorothy And Irene Falkiner in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 580,500.00 (€ 738,421.37).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion A Living Legacy: Irish Art from the Collection of Brian P. Burns durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study From Nature von Walter Frederick Osborne zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 87.500,00 (€ 98.697,34) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Walter Frederick Osborne auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Dorothy And Irene Falkiner im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 580.500,00 (€ 738.421,37).
