Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

The »bidding war« ended at GBP 300,000.00 (€ 351,812.20), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Frederick Osborne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dorothy And Irene Falkiner, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 580,500.00 (€ 738,421.37).
