Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work In St Stephen's Green by Walter Frederick Osborne was sold in the The B.J. Eastwood Collection: Important Sporting and Irish Pictures auction at Christies in London in July 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 300,000.00 (€ 351,812.20), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Frederick Osborne - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dorothy And Irene Falkiner, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 580,500.00 (€ 738,421.37).

Die Arbeit In St Stephen's Green von Walter Frederick Osborne wurde im Juli 2021 in der Auktion The B.J. Eastwood Collection: Important Sporting and Irish Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 300.000,00 (€ 351.812,20) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Frederick Osborne mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dorothy And Irene Falkiner beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 580.500,00 (€ 738.421,37) versteigert wurde.
