In September 2014 Christies in London held the auction The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision, which included the work Loch Striven, Clyde, Scotland by Waller Hugh Paton. The result of GBP 500.00 (€ 642.22) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Waller Hugh Paton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Loch Achray - 'The pleased lake' in May 2007 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,103.49).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im September 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision durch, in der auch die Arbeit Loch Striven, Clyde, Scotland von Waller Hugh Paton zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 500,00 (€ 642,22) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Waller Hugh Paton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Loch Achray - 'The pleased lake' im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.600,00 (€ 67.103,49).
