Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July this year Christies in Paris held the auction First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Transparency (Negative) Kodak Portra 160NC Em. No. 3161: November 28-30, 2010 LAX/MIA MIA/LAX by Walead Beshty. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,276.00 (€ 3,822.10). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walead Beshty achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fedex® Kraft Box© 2005 FEDEX 330504 REV 10/05 SSCC, Standard Overnight, Los Angeles-Beverly Hills, trk# 8726 7182 8553, date February 13-14 2012; Standard Overnight, San Francisco-Beverly Hills, trk# 8759 1171 4523, date January 29-30 2013; Interna in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 68,500.00 (€ 79,951.77)
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion First Open: Post-War and Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Transparency (Negative) Kodak Portra 160NC Em. No. 3161: November 28-30, 2010 LAX/MIA MIA/LAX von Walead Beshty zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.276,00 (€ 3.822,10) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walead Beshty erzielen.
