Unsigned, inscribed indistinctly, titled, and dated "...24 April 1934" along the lower edge, with the artist's printed name and address c.l. (sheet is artist's letterhead stationery). Watercolor and ink on paper, sight size 7 x 10 1/2 in. (17.8 x 26.7 cm), framed.

Auction result misses estimated price range
In December last year a collector was able to acquire the work The Return of the Native by Waldo Peirce for USD 242.25 (€ 226.44). This price was achieved in the auction Studio Art at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Waldo Peirce achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Penobscot Gals in November last year with an auction result of USD 28,050.00 (€ 27,172.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Return of the Native von Waldo Peirce für USD 242,25 (€ 226,44) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Studio Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Waldo Peirce erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Penobscot Gals im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.050,00 (€ 27.172,33).
