Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Self-Portrait Of The Artist At Work by Waldo Peirce was sold in the American Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2008. It changed hands for a price of USD 6,875.00 (€ 4,349.89) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by Waldo Peirce have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Penobscot Gals in November last year with an auction result of USD 28,050.00 (€ 27,172.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Self-Portrait Of The Artist At Work von Waldo Peirce wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 6.875,00 (€ 4.349,89) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Waldo Peirce auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Penobscot Gals im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.050,00 (€ 27.172,33).
