Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Waldo Peirce could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings auction, the work The Artist And His Family: Trimming Dad'S Beard changed hands for USD 6,250.00 (€ 3,954.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Waldo Peirce have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Penobscot Gals in November last year with an auction result of USD 28,050.00 (€ 27,172.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Waldo Peirce konnte im März 2008 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings wechselte die Arbeit The Artist And His Family: Trimming Dad'S Beard für USD 6.250,00 (€ 3.954,44) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Waldo Peirce auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Penobscot Gals im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.050,00 (€ 27.172,33).
