Despite a disappointment, a good price for Waldo Peirce
This work of art by Waldo Peirce could be acquired at Bonhams in New York in November last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Penobscot Gals changed hands for USD 28,050.00 (€ 27,172.33) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, Penobscot Gals is the most expensive artwork by Waldo Peirce that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Waldo Peirce
Dieses Kunstwerk von Waldo Peirce konnte im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Penobscot Gals für USD 28.050,00 (€ 27.172,33) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Penobscot Gals das teuerste Kunstwerk von Waldo Peirce, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
