Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March 2014 Christies in New York held the auction First Open, which included the work Alexander The Great (From Pictures Of Chocolate) by Vik Muniz. The »bidding war« ended at USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,404.66), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vik Muniz achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sugar Children: Valentina, The Fastest; Jacynthe Loves Orange Juice; Big James Sweats Buckets; Lil' Calist Can'T Swim; Valicia Bathes In Sunday Clothes; Ten Ten'S Weed Necklace in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 293,000.00 (€ 277,409.58).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 25.404,66) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vik Muniz erzielen.
