This artwork by Victor Tardieu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Unknown sold for HKD 1,600,000.00 (€ 151,319.65) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 650,000.00. This high result makes Unknown the most expensive artwork by Victor Tardieu that we have observed at auctions so far.
