Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Belgian Marketplace by Victor William Higgins. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,313.00 (€ 3,830.57) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Victor William Higgins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Going Home in November 2015 with an auction result of USD 773,000.00 (€ 731,868.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Belgian Marketplace von Victor William Higgins zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.313,00 (€ 3.830,57) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Victor William Higgins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Going Home im November 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 773.000,00 (€ 731.868,96).
