A top price for Vasilii Kotarbinsky - as previously expected
The work Roman Orgy by Vasilii Kotarbinsky was sold in the Important Russian Art auction at Sothebys in London in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 825,250.00 (€ 1,016,624.27) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Roman Orgy is the most expensive artwork by Vasilii Kotarbinsky that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Roman Orgy von Vasilii Kotarbinsky wurde im November 2012 in der Auktion Important Russian Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 825.250,00 (€ 1.016.624,27) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Roman Orgy das teuerste Kunstwerk von Vasilii Kotarbinsky, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
