In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Photographs, which included the work Untitled (Performance-Detail, 1999, The New York Times Shoot) by Vanessa Beecroft. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,113.68), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vanessa Beecroft achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Vb 48, Palazzo Ducale, Genoa in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 120,000.00 (€ 89,199.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Performance-Detail, 1999, The New York Times Shoot) von Vanessa Beecroft zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.113,68) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vanessa Beecroft erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Vb 48, Palazzo Ducale, Genoa im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 120.000,00 (€ 89.199,44).
