Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Untitled #01080605 (From Black Women I) by Valérie Belin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,462.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Valérie Belin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sans Titre 01 10 04 05 (Série Models), 2001 in November 2021 with an auction result of EUR 35,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled #01080605 (From Black Women I) von Valérie Belin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.462,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Valérie Belin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sans Titre 01 10 04 05 (Série Models), 2001 im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 35.000,00.
