Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of A Girl Reading by Valentine Cameron Prinsep was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in June 2005. It changed hands for a price of GBP 28,800.00 (€ 42,683.42) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Valentine Cameron Prinsep - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Venetian Gaming-House In The Sixteenth Century, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 111,650.00 (€ 160,607.92).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study of A Girl Reading von Valentine Cameron Prinsep wurde im Juni 2005 in der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 28.800,00 (€ 42.683,42) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Valentine Cameron Prinsep mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Venetian Gaming-House In The Sixteenth Century beobachtet, die im November 2004 für GBP 111.650,00 (€ 160.607,92) versteigert wurde.
