In the Topographical Pictures auction, the work Martaba, a Kashmiree Nautch girl sold for GBP 42,500.00 (€ 54,266.36) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Valentine Cameron Prinsep - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Venetian Gaming-House In The Sixteenth Century, which sold at auction in November 2004 for GBP 111,650.00 (€ 160,607.92).
