In November 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art: A Different Perspective, which included the work Still Life by Václav Špála. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 40,320.00 (€ 45,010.73), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Václav Špála have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Czech thunderstorm By The River Otava (Bouře U Otavy) in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 187,250.00 (€ 207,157.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im November 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art: A Different Perspective durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life von Václav Špála zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 40.320,00 (€ 45.010,73) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Václav Špála auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Czech thunderstorm By The River Otava (Bouře U Otavy) im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 187.250,00 (€ 207.157,32).
