UTAGAWA KUNISADA (UTAGAWA TOYOKUNI III, 1786-1865)
Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1843-1847
Two oban tate-e bijinga prints of Tsumetori yoshi (A Good Day to Trim One's Nails) and Yometori yoshi (A Good Day to Take a Bride), both from the series Hana goyomi kichihi sugata (A Floral Calendar: Women on Lucky Days), published by Wakasaya Yoichi, nanushi censor's seal Tanaka, signed Kunisada aratame Nidai Toyokuni ga; all mounted on card. The first: 36.5cm x 25.7cm (14 3/8in x 10 1/8in); the second: 35.5cm x 25.4cm (13 15/16in x 10in). (2).
