Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rafu keppatsu zu (Nude arranging coiffure) by Ryuzaburo Umehara was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 7,050.00 (€ 7,977.82). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ryuzaburo Umehara achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peony in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 2,750,000.00 (€ 301,299.47).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rafu keppatsu zu (Nude arranging coiffure) von Ryuzaburo Umehara im September 2000 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 7.050,00 (€ 7.977,82) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ryuzaburo Umehara erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Peony im Juli 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.750.000,00 (€ 301.299,47).
