Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Roses by Ryuzaburo Umehara was sold in the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2018. The price achieved of HKD 106,250.00 (€ 11,992.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 80,000.00 – 160,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ryuzaburo Umehara achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peony in July 2020 with an auction result of HKD 2,750,000.00 (€ 301,299.47).
