Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2015 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Asian Art, which included the work Sex Scene by Tu Hongtao. The auction ended at the price of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 17,524.00), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tu Hongtao achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Dream and Somnus in October 2015 with an auction result of CNY 1,950,000.00 (€ 279,555.33).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sex Scene von Tu Hongtao zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 17.524,00) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tu Hongtao erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Dream and Somnus im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CNY 1.950.000,00 (€ 279.555,33).
