This artwork by Tu Hongtao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Beijing in June 2014. In the Chinese Art auction, the work Mountain After Mountain sold for CNY 944,000.00 (€ 111,156.17) - well above the upper estimate of CNY 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tu Hongtao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In Dream and Somnus, which sold at auction in October 2015 for CNY 1,950,000.00 (€ 279,555.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tu Hongtao erzielte im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in Beijing einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Art wurde die Arbeit Mountain After Mountain für CNY 944.000,00 (€ 111.156,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von CNY 500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tu Hongtao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit In Dream and Somnus beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für CNY 1.950.000,00 (€ 279.555,33) versteigert wurde.
