This artwork by Tu Hongtao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2014. In the Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) auction, the work A Poet and His Lover sold for HKD 1,480,000.00 (€ 139,970.67) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tu Hongtao; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot In Dream and Somnus sold at auction in October 2015 with the realized price of CNY 1,950,000.00 (€ 279,555.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tu Hongtao erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) wurde die Arbeit A Poet and His Lover für HKD 1.480.000,00 (€ 139.970,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tu Hongtao; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit In Dream and Somnus im Oktober 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von CNY 1.950.000,00 (€ 279.555,33).
