A top price for Tsukioka Kogyo
When the work Three kacho-ga woodblock prints by Tsukioka Kogyo was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2021, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - GBP 300.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at GBP 1,260.00 (€ 1,466.04). This high result makes Three kacho-ga woodblock prints the most expensive artwork by Tsukioka Kogyo that we have observed at auctions so far.
