Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Macrame by Tsibi Geva was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 9,375.00 (€ 6,735.40). Admittedly, works by Tsibi Geva have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Diptych) in December 2015 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 40,289.16).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Macrame von Tsibi Geva im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 9.375,00 (€ 6.735,40) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tsibi Geva auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Diptych) im Dezember 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 40.289,16).
