In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections, which included the work Pali Look-out, Honolulu by Tseng Yuho. The result of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 33,860.28) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tseng Yuho - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Fishpond, Hawaii-Kai (Diptych), which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 725,000.00 (€ 85,317.46).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2018 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pali Look-out, Honolulu von Tseng Yuho zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 33.860,28) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tseng Yuho mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Fishpond, Hawaii-Kai (Diptych) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2016 für HKD 725.000,00 (€ 85.317,46) versteigert wurde.
