The work Landscape by Tran Phuc Duyen was worth HKD 237,500.00 (€ 22,089.04) to a buyer in April 2014. This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tran Phuc Duyen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Les cueilleuses de la moyenne région au Tonkin (The Pickers of the Middle Region in Tonkin) ; Le chemin du marché (The Way to the Market), which sold at auction in September this year for HKD 529,200.00 (€ 63,850.00).
