Edo period (1615-1868), dated 1864
Five oban tate-e prints from a polyptych of the kabuki actors: Kawarazaki Sansho, Sawamura Tanosuke III, Nakamura Shikan IV, Ichimura Kakitsu IV and Ichikawa Kyuzo II, published by Otaya Takichi, with a combined censor and date seal aratame Rat 11 (1864), signed Kunichika ga; framed and glazed as one set. Overall: 52.8cm x 149cm (20 13/16in x 58 5/8in); each sheet: approx., 35.5cm x 23cm (14in x 9 1/16in).
