This artwork by Toyohara Kunichika achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2021. In the Japanese Woodblock Prints | Including the Sokolov Collection auction, the work The maiko Kotsune from the Sukiya-cho, and the actors Yaesakura and Sawamura sold for GBP 756.00 (€ 879.62) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toyohara Kunichika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Artisans, Beauties And Annual Events in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 47,900.88).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Toyohara Kunichika erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
