Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The actor Ichikawa Danjuro IX in a shibaraku pose by Toyohara Kunichika was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2019. The price achieved of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,097.93) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toyohara Kunichika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Artisans, Beauties And Annual Events in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 47,900.88).
