Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective, which included the work Czech au Soleil Noir by Toyen. The price achieved of GBP 125,000.00 (€ 140,996.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Toyen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tu t'évapores dans un buisson de cris in October this year with an auction result of EUR 2,823,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective durch, in der auch die Arbeit Czech au Soleil Noir von Toyen zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 125.000,00 (€ 140.996,20) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Toyen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tu t'évapores dans un buisson de cris im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 2.823.000,00.
