In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Fine Japanese Prints, which included the work Literary and Military Arts, Number Two (Bunbu niban) by Totoya Hokkei. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,340.00 (€ 13,526.24), 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Totoya Hokkei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tiger Looking At The Moon in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 302,323.57).
