Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Edo period (1615-1868), circa first half of 19th century by Totoya Hokkei was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Bonhams in New York in March last year. The price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,298.75) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Totoya Hokkei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tiger Looking At The Moon in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 302,323.57).
