This artwork by Totoya Hokkei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in September 2021. In the Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono auction, the work Edo Period (1615-1868), 1810S sold for USD 8,925.00 (€ 7,709.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Totoya Hokkei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tiger Looking At The Moon in September 2021 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 302,323.57).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Totoya Hokkei erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Japanese and Korean Art, including the Crawford Collection of Surimono wurde die Arbeit Edo Period (1615-1868), 1810S für USD 8.925,00 (€ 7.709,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Totoya Hokkei erzielen.
