Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Balletto by Toti Scialoja was worth EUR 45,850.00 to a buyer in April 2008. This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art 1953-2003, A Private Collection at Sothebys in Milan and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Toti Scialoja; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Metamorfosi sold at auction in November 2007 with the realized price of EUR 75,800.00.

Die Arbeit Balletto von Toti Scialoja war einem Käufer im April 2008 EUR 45.850,00 wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art 1953-2003, A Private Collection bei Sothebys in Mailand erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Toti Scialoja; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Metamorfosi im November 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 75.800,00.
