Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tony Scherman could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in December 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction, the work Study changed hands for USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,226.77) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony Scherman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bonaparte in May 2012 with an auction result of CAD 39,000.00 (€ 30,477.03).
