Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Winter - A Stillness by Tony O'Malley was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in July 2011. The price achieved of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,303.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tony O'Malley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Currach, Clare Island (Recto); Evening Landscape Tehidy Hospital (Recto); Figure (Verso) in March 2016 with an auction result of GBP 434,500.00 (€ 548,599.17).
