In October 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale, which included the work Towgay (Bean Sprout) Factory by Tong Chin Sye. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 68,750.00 (€ 7,566.75), 38% above the upper estimate. Other works by Tong Chin Sye have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,299.04) in May 2019 for the work Street Scene.

Im Oktober 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Towgay (Bean Sprout) Factory von Tong Chin Sye zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 68.750,00 (€ 7.566,75) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von Tong Chin Sye haben noch höhere Preise erzielt - wir haben das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.299,04) im Mai 2019 für die Arbeit Street Scene beobachtet.
