A top price for Tong Chin Sye - as previously expected
The work Street Scene by Tong Chin Sye was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. The price achieved of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,299.04) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 60,000.00 – 90,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Street Scene is the most expensive artwork by Tong Chin Sye that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Street Scene von Tong Chin Sye kam im Mai 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.299,04) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 60.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Street Scene das teuerste Kunstwerk von Tong Chin Sye, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
