Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2015 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Singapore River by Tong Chin Sye. The price achieved of HKD 25,000.00 (€ 2,920.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tong Chin Sye - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Street Scene, which sold at auction in May 2019 for HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,299.04).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2015 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Singapore River von Tong Chin Sye zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 25.000,00 (€ 2.920,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Tong Chin Sye mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Street Scene beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.299,04) versteigert wurde.
