Sold at the lower estimate price
In December 2019 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online, which included the work Singapore River by Tong Chin Sye. The result of HKD 15,000.00 (€ 1,715.51) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tong Chin Sye have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Street Scene in May 2019 with an auction result of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 9,299.04).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Dezember 2019 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Singapore River von Tong Chin Sye zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 15.000,00 (€ 1.715,51) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tong Chin Sye auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Street Scene im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 81.250,00 (€ 9.299,04).
