Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2020 Phillips in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in Association with Poly Auction, which included the work Trust Us by Gokita Tomoo. The price achieved of HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 265,805.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gokita Tomoo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Be Just Like Family, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 1,076,000.00 (€ 965,108.98).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Phillips in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale in Association with Poly Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trust Us von Gokita Tomoo zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 2.520.000,00 (€ 265.805,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Gokita Tomoo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Be Just Like Family beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 1.076.000,00 (€ 965.108,98) versteigert wurde.
