The work Here We Exemplify by Tom Phillips was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Sothebys in London in July 2008. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,875.00 (€ 15,087.32), 70% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tom Phillips; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Berlin Wall with German Grass and Skies II sold at auction in December 2018 with the realized price of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,852.22).

Die Arbeit Here We Exemplify von Tom Phillips wurde im Juli 2008 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 15.087,32) und damit 70% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tom Phillips; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Berlin Wall with German Grass and Skies II im Dezember 2018 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.852,22).
