Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Dante in his Study with Episodes from the Inferno by Tom Phillips was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2016. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,536.46). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tom Phillips - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Berlin Wall with German Grass and Skies II, which sold at auction in December 2018 for GBP 25,000.00 (€ 27,852.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Dante in his Study with Episodes from the Inferno von Tom Phillips kam im November 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 10.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 10.625,00 (€ 12.536,46) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Tom Phillips mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Berlin Wall with German Grass and Skies II beobachtet, die im Dezember 2018 für GBP 25.000,00 (€ 27.852,22) versteigert wurde.
