Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Tom McGrath could be acquired at Phillips in New York in September 2012 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Under the Influence auction, the work Two Works: Untitled changed hands for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,528.00) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tom McGrath have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 17,500.00 (€ 14,148.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tom McGrath konnte im September 2012 bei Phillips in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Under the Influence wechselte die Arbeit Two Works: Untitled für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.528,00) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tom McGrath auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 17.500,00 (€ 14.148,27).
