In April 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Online | London, which included the work Untitled (Sottsass, Sottsass, Sottsass, Mendini, Sottsass) by Tobias Madison. The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,451.03) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tobias Madison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ohne Titel, which sold at auction in December 2015 for EUR 8,750.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Online | London durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Sottsass, Sottsass, Sottsass, Mendini, Sottsass) von Tobias Madison zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.451,03) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tobias Madison mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Dezember 2015 für EUR 8.750,00 versteigert wurde.
