In April 2017 Phillips in New York held the auction The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2, which included the work Untitled, Mexico City by Tina Modotti. The »bidding war« ended at USD 43,750.00 (€ 40,156.03), 25% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tina Modotti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Telephone Wires, Mexico in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 692,000.00 (€ 617,801.98).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im April 2017 führte Phillips in New York die Auktion The Odyssey of Collecting: Photographs from Joy of Giving Something Foundation, Part 2 durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, Mexico City von Tina Modotti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 40.156,03) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tina Modotti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Telephone Wires, Mexico im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 692.000,00 (€ 617.801,98).
