Sold at the upper estimate price
In April 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work The Two Students, 2001 by Tina Barney. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,423.39), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tina Barney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jill and Polly in the Bathroom, which sold at auction in October this year for USD 31,750.00 (€ 30,043.53).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im April 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Two Students, 2001 von Tina Barney zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.423,39) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tina Barney mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jill and Polly in the Bathroom beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für USD 31.750,00 (€ 30.043,53) versteigert wurde.
