Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction Irish and 20th Century British Art, which included the work The Irish Press by Thomas Ryan. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,868.00 (€ 4,303.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Thomas Ryan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ryan's Garden, which sold at auction in May 2003 for GBP 7,767.50 (€ 10,822.08).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion Irish and 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Irish Press von Thomas Ryan zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.868,00 (€ 4.303,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Thomas Ryan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ryan's Garden beobachtet, die im Mai 2003 für GBP 7.767,50 (€ 10.822,08) versteigert wurde.
