Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A gentleman in a cocked hat mounted, and another in a jockey cap, dismounted, pulling up the girths of his horse; and Four gentleman in discussion, a dog at their feet by Thomas Ross was sold in the Sporting Art and Dogs auction at Christies in London in June 2003. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 446.50 (€ 641.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Thomas Ross achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of John Thurloe (1616-1668) in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 16,628.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A gentleman in a cocked hat mounted, and another in a jockey cap, dismounted, pulling up the girths of his horse; and Four gentleman in discussion, a dog at their feet von Thomas Ross wurde im Juni 2003 in der Auktion Sporting Art and Dogs bei Christies in London versteigert.
